Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, television personality, philanthropist as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After the graduation ceremony, she was an influential right-wing syndicated reporter. In the years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political scene. It was possible for her to recruit many prominent contributors to share their views about politics and culture. Arianna gained fame after she decided to stand as an independent Candidate in the California Recall election to succeed the former governor Davis. Arianna was also part of the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes declared her to be the "most important female" in the media industry, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. In 2012, she became the President of the media division at AOL. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she shared a close relationship with her mother and father but it was their connection that shaped her. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. When she was in her 16th year she returned to the UK for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college, she joined Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college which she later became the first female and foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with a Masters in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she was a journalist and TV host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his help.
