Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author and television host, as well as philanthropist as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at age 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Following her graduation, she became an influential conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current politics. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna gained fame in 2003 when she decided to contest as an independent candidate for the California recall election in order to succeed then Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led an initiative in Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her 12th in its top 10 list of Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in 2010. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media group in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. Through her early years, she exhibited the qualities of a leader for which are still prominently known. At the age of 16, she moved to Britain to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. Her professional career as TV host and journalist began after she graduated. Also, she appeared on the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from Bernard Levin.
