Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the US. She's been media critic since. Aiming to dispel the myths related to women in popular media, she is also working with issues that relate to the harassing women targeted by the media and other classes of people online. Sarkeesian has a degree in social thought and politics from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public presenter. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. She has been interested in the gender issue and feminist movements from a very young age. In 2009, while still studying at university she started her Feminist Frequency site.
