Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She regularly appears on the CNN's New Day Weekend as well as HLN's Weekend Express' as well as CNN International programming. Before making the move to CNN, in June of 2015, she was employed by numerous local radio stations among them those located in Atlanta and Nashville. She's covered wildfires, floods, hurricanes as well as blizzards. In 2019, she was nominated to win an Emmy award for covering the hurricane Dorian which was a hurricane in the Bahamas. She also has covered the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011. More than 350 tornadoes hit across the Southeastern United States in just four days. Over 200 on the 27th in a single day. Her work being an ecoscientist allowed her to cover stories on climate change and natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. Chinchar graduated with a bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. She's also a part of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
